show no.1

9th March - 27th April 2024

Mon - Sat, 10-5pm

We are thrilled to introduce our opening show of the year at Morgans. Hannah Eavis returns to Morgans with a collection of expansive landscape paintings, capturing soft spring like days with gestural marks and hints of warmer hues, alongside Maria Floyd’s series of rich landscape works capturing the raw elemental changes between the seasons. Martha Holmes introduces a series of still life paintings with nods towards the interior space of her studio, as well as a delicate body of works illustrating spring days from the beach hut in St Ives. New to Morgans is Newlyn based painter Iona Sanders whose vibrant still life paintings fill the gallery with colour, alongside Eleanor Dorrien-Smith’s soft landscapes on linen, which reference days spent on the Isles of Scilly. Paired with the paintings sits a new ‘Arvor’ range of scorched furniture pieces by Will Nock and a new collection of tableware by Wendy Wilbraham.

a little about us -

We are a family business which has developed out of many years of experience in the Art and Design industries combined with our passion for Cornwall.

Owners Ann Morgan and Tony Holmes with their daughters Martha, Ella and Clara established Morgans with the purchase of 49 Arwenack Street in November 2019. Since then the building has been redesigned and managed by Tony using local craftspeople for the complete renovation to provide gallery space and artist studios.

Morgans exhibits a wide range of creative disciplines and encourages young and emerging talent alongside well established artists. Each show is curated by the family, with the intention of bringing bodies of work by the finest artists and makers to our customers.
