ABOUT Charlotte

Charlotte Trounce is an artist based in Edinburgh. Since studying at Falmouth University, she has spent over a decade working as an illustrator across advertising, publications, products and corporate identities. Her clients include Art Fund, Barbican, Diptyque, Pinterest and The New York Review of Books. 

Alongside her commercial and editorial work, Charlotte has developed a fine art practice — attending residencies in Italy and Japan and exhibiting in Germany and the UK.

Inspired by the fluid forms and atmospheric qualities of natural landscapes, Charlotte uses simple shapes as a starting point from which to explore a vibrant world of colour, line and texture. Every brushstroke contains the potential for emotion and play. 

Capturing trees in moments between movement and stillness, she admires how each one quietly expresses its distinctive personality.
