ABOUT GEORGE
I'm interested in the idea that opposing experiences can exist at the same time. A painting can feel busy yet calm, loud and quiet, energetic yet still. Life can be difficult and joyful simultaneously. Rather than choosing one over the other, I'm drawn to the space where these dualities coexist and we appreciate them in different ways. The process of painting is an opportunity to enter a state of flow—a place of complete focus where distraction falls away. My hope is that the finished work carries some of that feeling with it, offering the viewer a moment to pause, look closely and simply be present.
